Optimal Tree Hash Modes: the Case of Trees Having their Leaves at All the Levels
نویسنده
چکیده
A recent work shows how we can optimize a tree based mode of operation for a rate-1 hash function where the sizes of input message blocks and digest are the same, subject to the constraint that the involved tree structure has all its leaves at the same depth. In this note, we show that we can further optimize the running time of such a mode by using a tree having leaves at all its levels. It turns out that a digest can be computed in dlog2 le + 1 evaluations of the underlying function.

Note on Optimal Trees for Parallel Hash Functions
A recent work [2] shows how we can optimize a tree based mode of operation for a rate 1 hash function. In particular, an algorithm and a theorem are presented for selecting a good tree topology in order to optimize both the running time and the number of processors at each step of the computation. Because this paper deals only with trees having their leaves at the same depth, the number of save...
متن کاملChanges of free polyamines in the leaves and stems of ‘Kinnow’ mandarin tree as affected by alternate bearing
In order to investigate the seasonal changes and the possible role of the free polyamines in the leaves and stems on the alternate bearing habit of the ‘Kinnow’ mandarin (Citrus reticulata Blanco) trees, a comparative study was conducted to analyze the levels of free polyamines (putrescine, spermidine and spermine) in the leaves and stems tissues of “on” and &ldquo...
متن کاملEffect of automobile pollution on chlorophyll content of roadside urban trees
The effect of automobile pollution was determined on chlorophyll content of four different tree species viz. Azadirachta indica L., Conocarpus erectus L., Guiacum officinale L.and Eucalyptus sp. growing along the roads of the city. Significant changes in the level of chlorophyll “a”, chlorophyll “b” and total chlorophyll “a+b” were found in the leaves of fou...
متن کاملInfluence of Windbreak-trees on the Soil'sPhysical and Chemical properties, Humidity and Erosion in Arid Regions (Case Study: Semi-arid Lands of Aaran and Bidgol)
When aerial parts of the plants capable of storing absorbing mineral salts in their leaves fall, these dissolved materials are transferred to the soil surface, changing its physical and chemical properties. In this study, we have investigated the influence of the Haloxylon tree on the physical and chemical properties, and also humidity of the soil using two, 300 m long transects one canopy of t...
متن کاملEffect of Altitude and Growing Season on Some Physiological Properties of Leaf from Persian Oak (Quercus brantii) in Zagros Forest (Case study: Ilam)
Abstract Understanding in variation in tree leaf related to altitude and climate change define the plant adaptation. These variations will predict their respond to the future changes. According to the vast distribution of Persian oak (Quercus brantii) trees in Zagros forest, the study of structural changes and the recognition the Persian oak ecological needs is crucial for their conservation a...
